It’s not. Brand Substacks disappoint me so often. I think you guys did a good job 🫡

not sponsored, don't work for le lick, but i've tried them and they're actually pretty satisfying. only downside: i tried to have one between sets at a hot tennis match, and while it should have been obvious, it takes more than 90 seconds to eat a lollipop

As someone who lives here - yes.

I didn’t realize what strong feelings I had about Phia until I read this blurb on the bus and had a few blocks’ walk to think about it.

I’m the ideal Phia customer in the sense that I cross reference up to five resale sites when looking for something I want to buy secondhand. But I also was Phia before Phia existed. I have no need for it, and trying to optimize thrifting it lame. It also really pissed me off when I read a profile of Phoebe Gates in the FT and learned that she shops on TRR. She is a billionaire who can buy whatever she wants and should leave the secondhand market for the rest of us.

The J Lee piece feels at odds with what originally made Feed Me compelling. I miss when it unpacked marketing narratives instead of being paid to amplify them.

I get it. I was invited, but for the record I wasn't paid. I've always found April to be a compelling chef and person, and Austin is interesting place right now. But in all honesty I wouldn't have written about it if I didn't find it to be genuinely great. But yeah I totally get it I promise I haven't lost my edge!
