Any risk of losing potential new subs from substack ecosystem?

It’s 2025, and I’m surprised people still want to signal with an… Erewhon smoothie dupe. I think it says more about the people buying it then the stores putting them out at this point 😂

On the "invite more strangers to your wedding" argument...I'm surprised they haven't talked to people who had the traditional Indian wedding (aka 500+ people, where a good chunk of those are people the bride and groom barely know anything, if truly anything, about)...

One of my favorite party tricks is making people guess how many attendees were at my cousins wedding (in India). Nobody gets close: 4K

Imagine if designers leaned into non fashion book spaces but made them aesthetically pleasing. Like I might buy a book on plumbing and hardware if Dries or JW Anderson publish it.

Confirmed Dayjob did Man Cereal branding — I’ve seen it and sampled the product. Clean ingredients, creatine, protein, actually tastes good somehow(?), founded by a power team — going to be big and manly.

How did it taste

Without revealing too much, I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of each flavor and lack of artificial taste or too much protein aftertaste. Plus the texture was light airy crunchy. Haven’t had the chance to try it with milk yet though — just sampled a few dry at a meeting.

Seems short sighted to me to leave Substack at scale just for better economics. Are these writers sure their revenue growth that Substack enabled won’t suffer? Like, don’t you remember how you got to this point? There has to be a better way…

What do you think about their fundraise

A skeptic would say they’re timing the peak of the news cycle but without knowing anything about the valuation, I’m bullish on the company given the ongoing collapse of legacy media.

Smoothies: I once heard a take that totally changed my mind on this, essentially contrasting paying $20 for a cocktail of good-for-you ingredients (collagen, spirulina, protein, etc) vs $20 for a cocktail of alcohol (essentially poison lol). I’m not anti-alcohol by any means, but the comparison makes spending $20 on a smoothie seem much more reasonable….
