I’ll just post here to say I’d be happy if Zohran or Brad won. Thanks Emily for the early reporting— what a ride!

I have to give you a ton of credit for early reporting on the Zohran campaign when he was <10% on Polymarket to win the Democratic nomination. While his politics are an unmitigated socialist disaster on steroids, your nascent warning — my interpretation as I heard about his platform and real world inexperience — was prescient. Kudos.

It’s funny how people think that whoever wins the Democratic nomination will win the election. Wouldn’t be so sure about that… but if he does, sometimes it takes a city to hit rock bottom for its political inclinations to truly change.

What are your thoughts on hookah lord Eric Adams

New Yorkers seem ready for drastically different leadership, judging by ZM's reception. Eric Adams obviously isn't that. I think Cuomo will run as an Independent and get more votes than Adams, but the question will be if ZM gains a meaningful advantage even without a majority of the popular vote because the anti-socialists split their votes. Classic Ross Perot / Ralph Nader situation.

ATE, I worry about the value of public parking in a world where self-driving cars optimize ownership, increase ride sharing solutions, and reduce the need for so many idle vehicles. Over the next five years I’m not worried about the asset, or if the buyer is paying an attractive price … but I wouldn’t pay top dollar in a 75 year contract.

All this means that if NYC can get top dollar for a 75 year contract — maybe they ought to feed the ducks while they’re quacking.

I wouldn’t say turned it around but she had some huge wins. Something’s wrong on the brand team and a lot of the caps on the lip products are annoying as hell

What makes you think there’s a brand team issue?

I think they’re a lost. Idk if the brand is for me or 16 year olds. Idk if it’s aspirational or supposed to be like… covergirl. I also feel like they’re missing out on so many event opportunities

Yeah i wouldn’t say turned it around either—I feel like press has been really lukewarm & fragrance launches felt off. I don’t understand what the brand stands for anymore. But I think she took on a really tough challenge!

Me and my friends keep what we call is an “Arson list” of businesses that charge absurd prices for things that we would burn down if we could get away with it. My friend Will for example sent in an $9 very small cup of OJ from a place in culver is lucky I can’t remember the name. Feed Me needs to start a worldwide arson list.

Also: Upstate NY is so under appreciated as someone raised there I’m telling you bonfires by the finger lakes are perfect summer nights.

I think the story of this election has to be the stark divide between centrist/moderate dems and the dems who want *something* to hope for, or a campaign that runs on ideas and pitches and not the "you know this dinosaur and he doesn't actually want this job and he's running because he has a huge campaign fund from not running for president in 2020 and this is just a stepping stone for 2028." And it has been outrageous to see just how much has been thrown at the wall, the Islamophobia is gross, by mainstream media, etc. as the Zohran campaign has been surging — the degree to which billionaires are circling the wagons is crazy. Also the term Nepo Baby has been brilliant but definitely abused, because there is absolutely degrees of it, whether it's a leg up because your family is prominent or a straight line into the family business. I bet a tiny amount of money on Zohran and it's been fun to watch my Kalshi stock go up and down with the primary.
