Meal replacement brand (yum) Huel has been acquired by Danone in a $1.2 billion deal. Can’t say I’ve ever laid a hand on a bottle of Huel, partially because of the name but mostly because I don’t consume my meals in the form of powder/bottled drink/bar, but if you do reach for these in your bodega, I’m curious about the reasoning. I was reading Drew Fallon’s posts on X this morning about the deal, where he wrote that the supplement category seems to be picking up. “Consumer trends are REALLY shifting more than I think anyone realizes towards these supplement businesses.”
