This letter is special because I'm writing it from Grand Cayman.

I’m going to be real with you guys. I am not in my bedroom, I am not even in the country. I am having a life-altering experience at Palm Heights in Grand Cayman. But more on that soon.

News:

• A move from The White House to AirBnb. Airbnb will announce today that Ron Klain — former White House chief of staff, and one of Washington's best-connected Democrats — will join the company as chief legal officer on Jan. 1. It’s surprising because Klain and Biden are still close, but shows recruiting momentum and continuing innovation for Airbnb, which now has 4mm hosts in nearly every country. Klain told Axios that when he went to San Francisco to interview with Brian Chesky and others, he stayed in a guest bedroom in Chesky's home that he lists on Airbnb. "He's a fantastic host," Klain deadpanned.

• Citi is fucking heartless with these Thanksgiving-week layoffs. The restructuring is said to result in thousands of layoffs.

• And over at Amazon, “several hundred” jobs in the Alexa division are getting laid off.
