Good afternoon, everyone.

I am writing this from the sunny counter at Memo Shish Kebab on 23rd Street, one of my Top-Five Favorite Restaurants in New York City That is Always There When You Need It.

To usher in autumn, Feed Me is hosting three scary movie screenings this month in a series I am calling Monday Scaries. Details are below the paywall, but every $10 ticket includes popcorn, a drink, and a surprise introduction from a Friend of Feed Me. I’m also happy to give neighborhood dinner suggestions to those who ask.

Today’s newsletter includes: Teddy Kim first dispatch from the New York Film Festival, a Glossier alum is working on a self-tanning spray, an iconic diner that put the mid in midtown is closing, shoulder season piña coladas, a local newspaper surges in subscribers after a 25-year-old buys it, Vincenzo Latronico’s Perfection hits the stage (I can see the set design now….), and Halloween candy for tired bankers.

Feed Me is $80/year or about $1.50/week. The good stuff, event invites, and comment section are below the paywall.
