Good morning everyone.

I’m glad you liked the letter yesterday about food writers on Substack! I have some more like that coming your way. As always if you have any story ideas, news tips you want me to investigate, or are interested in working together, send me an email: emilyesundberg@gmail.com

NEWS:

  • First of all, I feel bad that this writer hasn’t had Dunkin in a decade. Second of all, did you know that there is a class action lawsuit against Dunkin’ that makes the case that it’s unfair to tack on a surcharge for alternative milks?

  • Nothing sparkly and glossy can last forever. The entire beauty category is experiencing weaker spending across price points and product segments, says Ulta’s CEO. Ulta is among beauty companies that reported strong growth in revenue and profits over the past three years as consumers stepped up purchases of makeup, perfumes and skin-care items. If I had to guess what’s going to happen, I think people will chill with the makeup spending and re-orient their dollars towards skincare (as always), and wellness items.

  • Getting visceral flashbacks of lacrosse players in high school who I wanted to makeout with. Boat shoes are back.
