Morning.

I hope your’e all having a nice morning and look outside at the blue moon and the shooting stars tonight and appreciate that Venus is in retrograde (I don’t know what any of this means but I will use astrology and the heavens to rationalize a lot in my life).

NEWS:

  • It appears that The New Yorker has big plans to expand food coverage. Hannah Goldfield, their food critic of the last 5+ years, posted yesterday, “I’m very excited to be shifting gears at the New Yorker and getting ready to launch something new that will expand the magazine’s food coverage—details to come soon.”

Hannah Goldfield on Instagram: “How fitting that my last regular Tables for Two is about DESSERT. As you’ll see in the print magazine this week, the Goings On About Town section has been redesigned. (It will have a much bigger online presence now, in the form of a newsletter—subscribe!!) The column lives on and I’ll still write it sporadically, but I’m very excited to be shifting gears at the New Yorker and getting ready to launch something new that will expand the magazine’s food coverage—details to come soon. I had so much fun writing Tables (almost) every week these last 5+ years and I hope I guided you well or at least entertained and sustained you. I’m most proud of the fact that I did NOT let the pandemic slow me down—because the people who feed this city didn’t let it stop them. Hats off to them. Thank you for reading.”
