Why are restaurants putting stickers on my camera?

Why are restaurants putting stickers on my camera?

I do not like this performative privacy trend new New York restaurants are trying out.

Yesterday was Ash Wednesday and I also was on two video-recorded podcasts so that will be interesting when they air.

NEWS:

  • The New York Times knows that the future of media is not The New York Times. Yesterday, they posted a job listing for a media reporter, purely focused on “non-traditional media organizations – including those behind newsletters, podcasts and new video formats.” If I were this person, I’d have my eyes on FazeWorld, Puck, the personalities keeping Barstool afloat, every food creator making a Substack, the checks these chicks are making (they’re big) and the people managing them (they’re wack), and affiliate links at traditional media. Sounds like a really fun, necessary job.

  • Vanilla chocolate chip ice cream is going extinct. My dad’s been saying this about vanilla peanut butter ice cream for years.

  • Bret Easton Ellis is making a movie. Obviously it’s about the fucked up city of LA.

  • I have a newfound faith in Into The Gloss because of interviews like this one. I suddenly need to burn through three Byredo candles so I can have chic cutlery jars. Daise Bedolla, who is conducting most of these interviews, used to sit next to me when we worked at The Cut and I think she was born to revive beauty writing.
