Hello from the garden of the high school my dad works at. I spoke to his students this morning about Substack (none of them know what Substack is). If you have any questions for them, I’m speaking to another class in an hour.

Some other housekeeping:

  • My Feed Me party is in a week. If you are on the guest list for part one (which was only open to paid subscribers) you better be there. I will be keeping track. If you can’t go, update your status so I can open it up to other people!

  • We will be doing an All Fours book club. If you want to be included, email emily@readfeedme.com with the subject line ALL FOURS

  • New Hamptons letter goes out this week to paid readers

NEWS:

  • So my first piece of news is that I think it’s going to be a clubby, druggy summer. If last summer was about farmer’s market TikToks, Connecticut as a vibe, and idealizing “the East Coast,” this summer is about having your first bump of cocaine at the age of 32 (not me, I’m 29, but someone else) after testing it with strips from Amazon, Charli XCX, and staying out past 2am. You don’t have to believe me – you can come see the line outside the Feed Me party next Monday, and the Brat billboard announcing more tracks, and ask your local bodega about cigarette sales. Things are just feeling trashy and rich.

  • Speaking of which, Miss Charli curated a movie series for The Roxy Cinema. The lineup includes Project X and Party Monster. This kind of programming is something Nitehawk and Metrograph has been doing forever, but it’s cool to see more theaters leaning into the power of curating to sell more tickets.

  • On the last episode of Puck’s Fashion People, Lauren Sherman said she’s “heard people talk about” starting a roll-up newsletter company, including mine and

    Casey Lewis
    ’s. I say, I plead the fifth.

  • The luxury real estate industry is so competitive that agents don’t even want to share their beauty secrets.
