I think about the how glamorous the women’s restrooms are at Radio City often

I never want to leave when I step foot in there, it’s so special.

If you do parties like the makeover and be ready to work planing (anticipating problems and over crowding) and four times as hard pull it off.

Hire pros to help you. I worked at Time Inc and the women who ran events are scary good

To throw another theatre rec out there: one of my good friends is a brilliant playwright and she has a play on Broadway now called "Liberation." It's really extraordinary. The advertising is terrible (the people who are behind it should be forced into art museum) and doesn't do the play justice. It's really smart and unique.

The rare actually useful thought leadership

I think I already said this here months ago but so many more people are going to be going to the Theater this year and more actors are going to be getting involved in it. The playbill IG story is going to be prominent.

Do you think ppl are going to use it as a new way to signal taste or be genuinely interested?

"She also said that she’s excited about the tools that beehiiv has in place to sell ads,"

I had lunch with a streaming executive today and when I told him that on Substack you can take your content and subscribers and just leave, he said the equivalent of "Yikes!"

i'm so glad thoughtful events are experiencing a renaissance! I spent 2 years building an event business that might have been to early for its time but I think there's something really special about creating a vibe and seeing how people foster connections with each other and get to know themselves on a new level.

Someone who is killing it when it comes to events is one of my dear friends, Alisha Kumar. She's built a super impressive business called Casa de Tilda that is rethinking how to support social causes through intimate events and rethinking galas being the only way to raise funds and spread awareness. Seeing what she's working on gives me hope that events can be fun again!

Are you still active with your business?
