Good morning everyone. I am now a Dead Head after going to the Dead and Co. concert last night. What does that mean for this letter? Only time will tell…

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been SHADOW BANNED from Twitter, because those in power are afraid of my power and brilliant takes. Feel free to follow me :)

Some news:

  • Billionaire (and New York Mets owner) Steve Cohen donates $5 million for MDMA's push to go mainstream. And based on what I saw at Citi Field last night… the molly x Mets crossover is real. Our boy is a man of the people.

  • BookForum will be back in print in August, with a new publishing partner: The Nation. Teamwork makes the dream work. BookForum closed last December, and the uproar was louuud. The Bookforum team said they are confident that The Nation is the right partner. “They know how to run magazines,” Michael Miller, Bookforum’s editor in chief, said. “Bhaskar (president of The Nation) himself has worked on a number of magazines, and The Nation has been around since 1865.” The new Bookforum will still count on ad sales as part of the business model, Sunkara said, but it “will have to develop a much larger direct subscription base.”

  • Sweetgreen is turning into a Shoppy Shop. This week in an interview with Taste Radio, Nicolas Jammet discussed adding CPG brands to their store shelves. “We want to maintain a healthy balance of Sweetgreen-branded products, and then explore some awesome off-the-shelf brands that fit our ethos.” He also discusses redeploying employees to “interact with guests” to be more hospitality-focused, while the new salad robots make salads.
