Hello everyone. This morning, a Friend of the Letter send me a post from the New York Metro Weather Instagram account that rated today’s weather 10/10. I went for a jog in Prospect Park, and when I got back I asked Feed Me’s paid readers what they’re doing these days for health and exercise. The responses ranged from riding horses (more of these than I expected) to 7am Pilates classes to staying away from alcohol with the help of weed. Plenty to consider while I develop my autumn game plan to pivot to being a superhero.

Today’s letter includes: Anna Wintour’s former assistant got a promotion, Shelter Island’s only pharmacy is shutting down prescription services, Air Mail’s partnership with Anthropic (get that bag),

Melanie Masarin
’s discontinued stove is from eBay, and the bar on gift guides has been set with a new Strategist story about your favorite restaurant’s favorite steak knives.

Looking to hire a genius who also reads Feed Me? It’s free to post your listing on the Feed Me Job Board.

  • One of Anna Wintour’s assistants, Sammi Tapper, got promoted to a new role at Vogue: Director of US Operations and Content Strategy. Being Wintour’s assistant (there were usually two or three at a time) has historically been a role that has led to good things:

    • Lauren Weisberger went on to write The Devil Wears Prada.

    • Sylvana Ward Durrett went on to found childrenswear brand Maisonette.

    • Sophie Pera went on the become the creative director of Tatler.

  • Mia Khalifa went on the Adam Friedland show to discuss her unconventional road to fame and her future plans in film.

  • Politico is expanding their coverage into Hollywood and media by hiring a “Los Angeles Influence Reporter.” This suggests to me a similar approach to lifestyle as Puck, Vanity Fair, and Semafor, blending culture with politics and business. The job description also mentions the big upcoming athletic events in Los Angeles, both the World Cup next summer and then the 2028 Olympic Games, “a juggernaut that carries incredibly high stakes for local, state and federal politicians, as well as the region’s economic engines.” The ideal candidate will “be able to write with authority on key debates touching on politics, policy and power in Los Angeles and Washington.”
