Slut shaming is getting louder.

And the voices behind it get tons of clicks.

Me in midtown this weekend:

Good morning.

  • TikTok is changing the cookbook publishing industry. Many TikTok creators who have little or no professional cooking experience have gone from tinkering in their home kitchens to topping best-seller lists in a remarkably short time. In the process, they’ve shot a jolt of energy into a sagging cookbook market. As a refresher, prior to this, the top-selling cookbooks were coming from Bon Appetit alumni, and restaurant chefs or celebrities-turned-chefs. Overall sales of cookbooks have fallen 14.5 percent from a year ago, according to the consumer analytics company Circana, and the top 50 cookbooks sold an average of 96,000 copies in the last 12 months.

  • Blamain’s pieces were stolen ahead of their fashion week show. Clothes intended for Balmain’s upcoming Paris Fashion Week show have gone missing after a truck carrying the collection was stolen, according to an Instagram post from Olivier Rousteing. I think there is going to be an eventual reckoning with people sharing where they are at all times on social media.

  • Goop launched color cosmetics. “I don’t really wear makeup unless I’m dressing up for something, but this is something in between,” Gwyneth said in regards to the $34 Colorblur Glow Balm. “The balms are a new way to wake up your skin,” Gwyneth says. “They’re sheer, moisturizing, and full of skin-boosting ingredients. And the colors are so good—and so fun.” I’m seeing more of these types of products — a color for whatever kind of versatile thing. Jones Road Beauty has a similar product. Nudestix does too.
