Hello everyone. I’m in Nashville with the Hermès team this week to celebrate their new store opening (and line dance and tour the Gibson guitar factory). Look at these pumpkin cake Birkins the chef at Margot Cafe made.

Today’s letter includes: A New York Times star moving to Vox, Substack bundles may finally be happening, a course on building modern newspapers (I’m considering signing up if anyone wants to join me) and the play everyone will be talking about next year. We should all probably be seeing more shows on Broadway.

  • Alex Cooper created an “Unfurgettable” $70 clog with Crocs named after her dog, Henry. Last week, I wrote about how more podcasters are experimenting in retail extensions of their shows (Throwing Fits is selling a $200 shirt). WSJ reported this year that The Skinny Confidential, a popular podcast from the founders of podcast network Dear Media, made $16mm from their face rollers and $7mm from their mouth tape. Does liking a person’s podcast mean you’ll also buy furry crocs named after their dog, even when UGGs exist? We’ll see how fast they take to sell out.

  • From the Feed Me Tip Line: The Met is allegedly planning a street entrance for their new restaurant (run by the Via Carota team) so it can stay open for dinner after museum hours. My source also told me: “They uncovered part of the Met’s original facade that they were unaware still existed during construction on the Costume Institute bit. They’re leaving it exposed as a permanent part of the design.”
