Good morning everyone. Some of you may follow me on Instagram and have seen that I’m trying to throw a party for single (or on the verge of breakup) Feed Me readers. The responses were overwhelmingly positive — I will spend some time this weekend considering how to do this in the most balanced, effective, hot way.
Our next Guest Lecture is with artist Maya Man. I once read a profile of Maya that described her as “an artist whose work considers the computer screen a space for intimacy and performance,” which after scrolling through her work, feels incredibly apt. Paid readers can ask Maya anything they want this weekend — about internet and influencer culture, showing her work at The Whitney, how her teen years online influencer her work.

A Hamptons resident called the cops because some guys on a construction site were… singing.
I currently pay about $100/year for a Puck subscription. This gives me access to all of their newsletters. But last night, Lauren Sherman’s Line Sheet sent out their first “Inner-Circle” letter — “Becoming an Inner Circle member now takes you even more inside to exclusive coverage you won't get anywhere else.” — which you can get if you pay $231/year. A few days ago, I recorded a Q+A for my paid readers, and one of the only pieces of advice I gave to people who want to get started on Substack was to play with paywalls, especially if you have information and access that nobody else has. Product and analytics teams would say Puck’s move to diversify their paid tiers is smart. Does it make the standard tier “worse” to say it doesn’t have all the gossip? Maybe. But paywalling new premium features is essentially a way to create a new product. At least the podcast is free.
