NPR's beloved TikTok star is going to Hollywood
And maybe you will too after creating a good social media strategy!
RISE AND SHINE.
NEWS:
Hamptons home prices are back up! If you were reading Feed Me last summer, then you followed the slow, flat summer that Hamptons real estate had in 2023. But home prices soared to a record in The Hamptons and sales rose year-over-year for the first time in 10 quarters. “When we have a house that is priced properly, we are finding that we have far more buyers than we do sellers,” said Todd Bourgard, Elliman’s chief executive officer for Long Island. “We’re seeing multiple bidding situations.” Part of the reason is that Wall Street had a good year. Manhattan and The Hamptons are inextricably connected — I even know private pharmacies in New York and East Hampton who have decades-old relationships for their customers.
In other Hamptons news, locals are NOT happy about the arrivals of Barnes and Noble.
Do you guys know NPR’s Planet Money guy, Jack Corbett? He started as a Tiny Desk intern, and then became the face of the Planet Money TikTok (he’s one of the best TikTok editors I’ve watched), and now he’s going to Hollywood. Director Julian Glander has set the cast for Boys Go to Jupiter, his debut feature film. The cast includes Corbett, Tavi Gevinson, Julio Torres, and SNL’s Sarah Sherman. This is all to say, if you work hard enough in social media, you can become a movie star.
