MY CANDLES FLY PRIVATE 🕯️
A candle brand brought influencers to the Hamptons via private jet.
Hello everyone. We are 35 days away from the new Blood Orange album, thank God.
Last night, I went to a dinner hosted by Four Seasons at Onna House, where dinner was cooked by Hotel George V’s Christian Le Squer. On the walk to my Uber after dessert, I asked one of the bartenders if they had a cigarette. He presented me with an elegantly folded napkin with two cigarettes gently placed in the center. It was the most glamorous act of service I’d experienced in weeks.
Today’s letter includes: a lesson in brand event execution from Doen and Hotel Lobby Candle,
on Emilio Pucci, and The New York Times is hiring six app engineers.📱 Have a story you think I should look into? Text the anonymous Feed Me Hotline : (646) 494-3916 📱
Pucci sales are way up. Sales at the brand’s stores have grown 50 to 60 percent over the last year. Last summer, New York influencer Kit Keenan posted a TikTok showing how her mother (designer Cynthia Rowley) reworked a vintage Pucci dress into a bikini and mini dress – that was the first signal for me. Hailey Bieber wore a matching set for a Rhode summer campaign.
posted herself wearing a Pucci mini skirt in the spring. I even ordered a skirt from the most recent collection that I need to get altered, if anyone has a good tailor in Brooklyn. I texted , who has been about the Pucci life for years, to ask about the summer’s printed trend:“Pucci screams “Europe,” it photographs well, it’s fun, it’s flirty, it’s a little bit ugly, and the prints are as recognizable as any luxury logo. I’ve always had a saved search for the vintage on TRR—the new stuff is appealing but the price-to-amount-of-fabric ratio is off to me. It’s “Euro-maxxing” in fabric form.”
