Good morning. Thank you everyone who came to the Feed Me screening of The Social Network in Green-Wood Cemetery last night! As I said in my introduction last night, the movie is about the creation of Facebook. But it’s also about what drives a 19-year-old Harvard kid to build, and sex, and San Francisco, and watching imagined lives and friendships slip out of your hands, and Final Clubs, and heartbreak. I really like unpacking the idea of “feeling like an underdog” and how that feeling a) can’t be manufactured, and b) can be one of the most valuable qualities to propel someone to success.

My other takeaway is that I’m so happy when I can host events that aren’t boring dinners attended by people who are awful conversationalists. If you said you wanted a keychain and I ran out, shoot me an email.

There are two Feed Me events in September for paid readers which will be announced in the next few weeks, and I’m trying to figure out an LA event for October….

Today’s newsletter includes: Brandy Melville’s West Village Girl Food Tour, a new Glossier product launch, and why your bachelorette party next summer probably won’t be in the Hamptons.

  • Donald Trump Jr.'s 1789 Capital invested in Polymarket, the world's largest predictions market. This signals to me that Polymarket will soon be legal in the United States, and that the business will thrive under the Trump admin. I also think we’re going to start seeing more examples of Polymarket being used as cultural theater — e.g. next mayor of New York, when will David Portnoy review another 9+ slice — not just for finance people betting on markets.

  • Addison Rae hosted a sound bath meetup for her fans.
