Nice to see everyone mostly liking it so far, I was a little worried given the deluge of unnecessary feeling biopics we’ve been getting recently. Would guess one of the main things it has going for it is focusing on a period of his life that was mostly unknown to everyone rather than the part we know.
Im so traumatized by the $20 watermelon I bought at McCalls this weekend I was holding my breath reading about your cantaloupe. Glad your melon was good mine was not.
If I MAY suggest two fantastic melons everyone must try before they die: Bonny Melons from Weiser Family Farrms in Southern Caliornia, which one can source fairly easily from Natoora, and Huang Pi Qiu' yellow skin red watermelon, which one can find from the wonderful Norwich Meadows at NYC Greenmarkets.
Bonny is sweet *and* sour, soft and juicy with a candy-like acid. Absoltuely incredible on it's own or with yogurt, prosciutto, coriander and a little olive oil. It needs no help but we can always take things further :). They're small, so you can just eat one or a half on your own. I am obsessed with them.
Huang Pi Qiu is another small one - so perfect for a pair or on your own. Perfect juicy watermelon flavor - crisp, quenching, etc. But there's just a little *more* there than a normal watermelon.
My favorite thing to do is have these after dinner or post-whatever work out with some salty, fizzy Ayran or my homemade kefir.
London beauty black book next? 👀
You got it.
“Tony would have HATED this.” my exact thoughts about this movie. though, I *want* to want to see it. does that make sense lol
So I really enjoyed it, but I don't think the target audience was the ghost of Bourdain
fair. I think I'll see it eventually. miss the man :'(
great letter today btw!!

I’ve been really sad. I think it’s because they’re so heavy, you think there’s a promise inside!!!
9lbs of empty promises
