Morning. I’m so happy it’s Friday.
I’m answering some questions that I’ve been getting emailed on Monday, so if you if you want to add any, send them over this weekend.
News:
Sandy Liang’s new home collection is for girls who want to live in the pages of Eloise at The Plaza. The balletcore collection includes a ribbon-covered rug, ballet slippers, a chic lighter for holiday party cigarettes, and a doormat that reads “I’m going to be my own kind of princess.”
How about a $300 Khaite sweater for your baby? Womenswear brand Khaite is collaborating with Bonpoint, offering sweaters, leggings and voluminous tops for babies, toddlers and children up to age 10. This collection, which ranges in price from $110 to $730, is available globally for a limited time on khaite.com and bonpoint.com, as well as in Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Harrods in London, Le Bon Marché in Paris and mytheresa.com.
One of the art world’s top magazine editors was fired last night. David Velasco was removed from Artforum after the magazine’s publishers said there was a flawed editorial process behind the publication of a letter that supported Palestinian liberation. “I have no regrets,” Velasco said in an email. “I’m disappointed that a magazine that has always stood for freedom of speech and the voices of artists has bent to outside pressure.”
McDonalds is getting rid of the hollow spoons for their McFlurries. They’re seeking more sustainable alternatives, and will use their small black spoons which use less plastic in the meantime. Had to text McDonald’s expert, Gaby Scelzo, for some context on this one.
“The spoon is part of what makes the McFlurry so special!!! It’s so fun to get something that only comes with one specific menu item. And it’s funny that it looks like a straw, but it isn’t… my sister and I would always try to sip through them. They also just feel good in your hand, it’s like their version of a sundae spoon and the length is very important for this. They’re hollow because they attach to the McFlurry machine and it spins the spoons around to mix in the Oreos or M&M’s”
