Good afternoon, everyone.

Last week I asked readers to submit songs so I could make a Feed Me spring playlist. Some reader notes to accompany their submissions:

Bones by The Killers: “A college friend is getting major orthopedic surgery this spring and this is one of my contributions to her bone themed recovery playlist. The Killers are also perfect for a big song to play with the windows of your car rolled down, a spring activity!”

I Think of You by Rodriguez: “We fell in love in the spring three years ago and then we ended it right before this spring started. This came up on shuffle yesterday on the way home as I passed through the Upper West Side where he used to live. I had a little cry, a little laugh, and kept it moving.”

A/S/L by Bone Patrol: “This is a song by the fake indie rock band in the movie Mile End Kicks (written by Montreal band Tops) and honestly, it hasn’t left my head, it’s super catchy and mysterious and I think I’m fully, totally in love and I have it on repeat (I never have anything on repeat!).”

You can listen to the whole playlist here:

Today’s newsletter includes: a dispatch from the AI Psychosis Summit, New York City homeowners are buying apartments with LLCs for privacy, and thoughts on modern fandom after charli xcx had private and untaped conversations with her fans in the middle of Brooklyn on Saturday.

I spent Friday night smoking hookah and eating Egyptian seafood on Steinway Street in Astoria. This is now my preffered way to hang out with people, so if you want to make plans or have a meeting with me in the future, take note.

On Saturday morning, I saw the Helen Frankenthaler show at Gagosian, on the recommendation of one of my readers. The ocean and cloud-colored paintings reminded me of Long Island, and after some reading, I learned that Frankenthaler worked from a waterfront studio in Stamford, Connecticut. A number of her enormous paintings explore that view of the Long Island Sound across changing light and seasons. I wonder what massive rooms these will all find a home in.

While walking around Chelsea, I got this text and debated going to Brooklyn to see what charli xcx was up to:

The address belonged to Big Mercy Sound, the studio where Taylor Swift recorded The Tortured Poets Department. I wasn’t sure if she’d actually be there or if it would be like…a screening of something, so I skipped it and saw a friend instead.

Charli was indeed there, and invited her fans to have conversations with her. I spoke to one attendee who explained how the event went down.
