"I want to write more about this party, but that’s not what you’re all here for…"

I, for one, am absolutely here to read more about this butler-and-bagpiper party.

Agreed, I would have rather read more about the bag piper party and the quarterly report drinks than Target. I’m surprised they needed the promo are they doing that bad?

Target was an ad babe. We have mouths to feed and a growing team.

It worked, because I'll be stopping in there after my lunch meeting today (stocking stuffers!) I wouldn't have otherwise.

I lived a block from the Dakota for a few years and found every excuse I could to always enter/exit the park on 72nd or walk down 72nd to and from train so I could check it out. Really one of the legendary buildings in the city. Sounds like an incredible apartment for the party.

I say this as a life long Oregonian but the issue with salt + stone is that natural deodorant in general don’t work. But if you like pit perfumes they have a pretty good mix.

Love the concept of Gothic Yule. I wanted the MNZ x MAKE Beauty palette when I was in college and now kicking myself I didn’t go for it.

I cannot think of the Dakota without thinking of the movie Rosemary's Baby. Plus how affordable NYC real estate was back in the 1960s!

Have you ever been inside

Many times. The founder of my firm John Angelo lived there and so did Maury Povich and Connie Chung. And Craig Hatkoff and Jane Rosenthal who had a Clinton fundraiser I attended. The woodwork in the apartments is gorgeous.

OK you're sleeping on Salt & Stone Rose Oud deodorant. I am an extreme perfume snob (Pratt Institute Perfume Course 2014!) and don't normally like rose or oud that much, but it's bananas good

but does it like.. work? or do you just get a satisfied moment of application?

I do not detect any smelliness and have had zero complaints! I will say the scent is pretty strong and lingers, but I think it's effective. But that said I am not a very sweaty/smelly person. I think it's on the same wavelength as Corpus, Native, etc. and better than Agent Nateur, which I actually did smell after using.

appreciate your thorough review but unfortunately I can't fuck with natural deodorants in NYC where we're all (or most of us) are squished into the subway cars.

I wouldn’t say I’m worried exactly but am I the only one who’s a bit uneasy about what might be motivating “legacy” periodicals to join Substack? Fine if it’s just one among several distribution and marketing channels, but wasn’t the lesson of media companies optimising content for Facebook that there’s no financially viable alternative to a robust direct-to-subscriber base?
