NEWS

  • Investment firm Consortium Brand Partners announced yesterday that it acquired athleisure brand Outdoor Voices. The only other brand in their portfolio (at least on their website) is Draper James, Reese Witherspoon’s lifestyle brand named in honor of her grandparents. If we are the company we keep, it’s not looking to cool for OV.

  • A venture capital firm was blocked yesterday from awarding grants to Black women.  An appeals court said the Atlanta-based Fearless Fund’s grants might discriminate against business owners of other races. The fund was sued last August by a prominent opponent of affirmative action. The case could shape the future of race-based initiatives in the U.S.

  • The How Long Gone guys made shoes. Who said you can’t be a model, DJ, and a footwear designer? Morjas, a Spanish-Swedish shoe brand, had Chris Black and

    Jason Stewart
    create a boat shoe and the campaign is very sexy, nostalgic Abercrombie energy. I hit up Chris to find out more about the partnership, and this is what he said:
