Good morning everyone. I can’t believe I still haven’t told you about my omakase dinner on Friday. Within the walls of the GM Building, there is a members club called Colette. Apparently it’s $125k to join. Inside of Colette, there’s a restaurant called Coco’s. And inside of Coco’s, there’s a sushi restaurant called YŪGIN, which is run by a Masa alum who goes by Chef Yugin.

My husband and I went on a date there on Friday and sat next to an A-List rapper. We spoke to Yugin the whole evening, who explained how he drives to Newark airport daily to pick up fish directly from his Japanese fish handlers. I felt grateful to be served one course on the last autumn leaves from Central Park.

Today’s letter includes: A country club comes to Brooklyn Heights, book promo posts now look like movie trailers, New York restaurants want to become concert venues, and an update on the Gramercy Park Hotel.

An interview with six-year-old James Marks. (Feed Me’s youngest subject)

Last year, accessories designer Sarah Brown and artist Connor Marie Stankard started a new bag brand called Auto, which is built on the conviction that a bag should do what a car does: get you where you need to go, easily and luxuriously.

Since then, Auto has grown into a small collection of objects: a tiny event bag called The Pill, a Ponytail keychain, and a fur stole that doubles as a purse.

For their latest campaign, Sarah and photographer Daria Kobayashi Ritch shot six-year-old James Marks at her home in California. According to Sarah, James was the hardest model she’s ever worked with, and the success of the shoot depended on bribes with candy.

Sarah and Connor set out to interview James for Feed Me, although the tables quickly turned. A transcript of their interview is as follows:

AUTO: Hi James. How are you?

JAMES: I’m fine. I have a lot to do today.

AUTO: That makes sense. Can we ask you a few questions first?

JAMES: Yes. Go.

AUTO: What do you keep in your purse?

JAMES: I put fashion and toys and candy.

AUTO: You know how in Alice in Wonderland, when Alice eats the cake that says “EAT ME” and she grows huge? What would happen if you ate this purse?

JAMES: I would turn into a tiny purse and be sick.

AUTO: I think so too. What’s your life motto?

JAMES: What is a motto?

AUTO: Words to live by.
