random question but any of the Sunset Beach loyalists here have insight on the scent they pump through the bar there? Definitely unique and honestly not sure I love it but I asked a bartender one time and just got a shrug.

texted my friend who runs it and he said "Some shit is proprietary 😎"

Not shocked that a Balazs property might have a custom/proprietary scent. Its pretty intense so not necessarily my vibe but figured it was so distinct that others must have noticed or possibly asked.

It’s now my sensory memory when I watch Seaplanes land and passengers get ferried to shore on a dinghy

gap fucks. been flirting with buying the stock cause it has staying power as long as this return to prep grundge nostalgia hangs around. but the problem is it has banana republic, old navy and athleta portfolio weighing it down.

Something I’ve preached to both my students and my reports for years is that the general public is now EXTREMELY visually literate — that, and pattern recognition is a core human instinct.

Smart brands that want to avoid appearing middle market will act accordingly, although I can only hope that’s enough to sustain the many fabulous human illustrators grinding harder than ever for work right now. Hire us, guys!

Shame that Nikita and the rest of the Twitter product team are so trapped inside their bubble that they are oblivious to what the platform has become and how toxic it is to the average person.
