Interesting case because it looks like the reader would have some cash, but I don’t see a lot of brands thinking it would be worth it to spend on space there versus a less polarizing pub. If I think of typical ads in conservative media it’s buckets of MREs for what they think is an impending civil war, but I have a feeling in Evie’s case would be a lot of wellness companies started by Utah moms.
Side note, I had to take a break from reading because I had a busy semester but I really missed reading and interacting with Feed Me. Nice to be back.
MBA, and honestly having a blast doing it. There’s so much talk about the value of higher ed right now but from almost anyone I talk to that isn’t in tech it seems a lot of places actually *do* care about a “piece of paper”. I’m not taking education advice from known daywalker Peter Thiel.
If you can swing it I would definitely do it. I think having a graduation date in mind and a few years of school does a great job of giving you a reason to think about a career pivot, and hopefully you’ll meet a lot of people who could help you land that new role. I’ve really liked the course options I have too, it gets in on a deep level that I have a new appreciation for after 15 years of working office jobs.
Bloomingdale's is quietly hiring Sak's employees and spending $ in general. My issue of The Cut came in a thick, Bloomie's-branded folder (snazzy!) announcing "three exquisitely renovated new floors", along with the GM's email address. Whoa. *and yes I still get physical magazines.
I cut through there a lot - that's how I saw the Wuthering Heights boutique. But actual shopping, not in forever. Those new floors though - Khaite, Acne, Stella... idk might be worth a look?
1. The HLG video is weird as it currently sits alongside a thrice weekly podcast and covers things from like 10 episodes ago. Do we think they will rethink the podcast cadence?
2. Jeremy King 4EVA — the park is right to banish these “patrons” it’s NOT the vibe there (and mirror selfies are already welcomed. The breakdown of influencer behaviour in his interview in the Standard yesterday was WILD.
JK is a beautiful writer. I hadn’t seen the inside of that restaurant before and it really is gorgeous. Another dreamy London restaurants staircase is Scott’s.
Re: HLG, I wonder if they’ll just strip the audio from the video and use it as one of their episodes.
Scott's is GORGE. The sole meunière is 10/10, it's a great spot for people watching, and it's got the early aughts infamy of being the restaurant where Charles Saatchi throttled Nigella, but the bathroom situation is awful for selfies.
JK IS a beautiful writer! And he's at The Park almost every night -- shaking hands, kissing babies, and checking in on random tables. He's just the best.
Laziness is so back — curious if you came across the “young ho” trend on TikTok (validating early 20s “girl” habits that are kind of like shortcuts, i.e. “young hos cook everything on high”, not ironing clothes and just throwing in drier, etc)
A girl I went to hs with used to be an editor/writer at Evie years ago before it got big (like 2020ish), I would go down so many rabbit holes hate reading her articles during Covid. It was fascinating!!
For lent everyone should give up taking pictures of their food
“Conservative Cosmo” is fantastic.
30 bible verses to blow your man’s mind.
I want to get my hands on a physical copy to see who is advertising in there

Oh man we missed you!!! What are you studying?

Would it be insane to do a (fully funded) MBA program just to get 2 years off of work? I do work in tech and it's dark times out here.

Cracking up at “see where that gets ya”

Whooooaaa, this is such great intel. When was the last time you shopped at Bloomingdales?

Hello my fellow reply guys — long time no speak.

I sat at the bar at Scott's. Didn't know that was where the infamous Nigella situation happened.
The bar is a vibe. YES, this happened at one of the rarer-than-hens-teeth OUTSIDE tables during peak paparazzi season. WTF was he thinking.
I like the Charli album. I have not seen the movie. I love forming an opinion before I read criticism!
I’m into it too and haven’t seen the movie yet. Faves are Altars, Seeing Things, Dying for You, and My Reminder

Can you link me? I haven’t come across that. But it stresses me out.

I saw that headline and immediately knew this was about The Park
HOW
The bathrooms are really in a league of their own
Damn. I’m gonna have to go and have a photoshoot in one.
Same lol but only because it was in RPS
Katie Baker at the Times was the first one on the Evie story! https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/21/style/evie-magazine.html
That was great. I included it in FM when it came out!

I was just recently seated near Eric Ripert at Crane Club and was also extremely starstruck! The man is out and about, clearly.
He’s incredible. I met him at Dealbook two years ago and I think he mentioned loving Crane Club….
More shrimp cocktail content is always welcome (for now)
why (for now)
just speaking of a theoretical point of perceived over saturation i guess

Gymkhana will be the reason I go to Las Vegas for the first time
